Responses to the surveys we carried out in preparation for our Neighbourhood Development Plan clearly identified the concerns of a majority of residents for improved road safety and traffic calming through Bredenbury.
The ideas you provided include, lower speed limits outside the school on Harp Lane and on the A44, wider pavements & better pavement maintenance, improved car parking, village gateways and virtual road narrowing. You will recognise that some of these issues have been addressed but clearly, there is more to do. We have discussed these issues with Herefordshire Council who encouraged us to prepare a Traffic Management Plan to highlight the concerns and make proposals to address the outstanding concerns.
Following on from the work in the community with residents and Parish Councillors in developing the Neighbourhood Plan it was decided to form a Traffic Management Group. This group would work together to come up with an aspirational traffic management plan with advice from Herefordshire Council.
This is a steering and therefore can make recommendations to the Parish Council but does not have the power to make decisions.
